Camera 500D – Excellent Camera

I have upgraded from a Canon 350D this room 500D. Why? one pixel), especially when I can cut out without worrying too much. b) Screen on the 350D is too small for my eyesight. The screen 500 is wonderful, too high. c) the self-cleaning sensor. d) better image quality. e) The video is a bonus, but not on my wish list, but still nice to have and it works fine. I also looked at the 50D, but instead chose to spend the difference in price for the purchase of a Speedlight 580EX ll that is really good.

mainly use a Canon 18-200mm since they usually have an advantage dog in one hand and a camera in the other and stopping to change lenses, it is not really a ‘ option. . . . and the lens is plenty good enough.

I just took pictures at a private function, particularly internal and the quality is great.
My only complaint with the 500D camera is that if you’re like me and always turn off the camera and you really need to be careful that in doing so has not moved the wheel function. I almost always have my set of AV and I have been caught by a couple of times they knocked the wheel to Manual.

All in all I was tickled pink with the 500D camera and can recommend without hesitation.

The biggest complaint is the awkward choice of settings – the functions in Quick mode, but the Live mode and Face Detection Live Mode with a particularly annoying pause while the mirror flips to focus. And why oh why do not decide that Canon would need to press a button completely separated (the AE lock / FE “*” on the back) to establish a fire? Surely it would be better to use the shutter button?

The same goes for the start and stop recording video – you must press the shutter button to the right Live mode of the monitor to start / stop it!

Hovever, the complaints are only cosmetic, are some of these characteristics. Serious photographers will not be with them much at all, even if they are nice to have “emergency”!

The camera body itself is light, although as usual the addition of a lens and Speedlite tend to add significantly to the weight. But individually, the body is found naturally in the hand, with slightly better grip contribute to the ease of management and a firm grip.

Overall, a superb piece of kit, with results that exceed expectations. Certainly comparable to the Nikon D90, but obviously a must-have for a snapper with a wide range of Canon lenses already!
